We are excited to announce that the 7th NEST Conference 2022 is on its way. The Conference goes from 5th and 6th May 2022 and will take place in a hybrid format (online + on-site).
We are currently in a pandemic context and NEST recognizes that many participants continue to face hardships. As the situation develops in the next few months and more specific information is available, we will be notifying all participants with further details whenever it is necessary. According to the French Government, vaccination, mask, and testing protocols are mandatory to attend events such as the NEST Conference. Research in sustainability transitions and sustainable innovation has undergone rapid development in the last three decades, from a small group of interested academics to a burgeoning research field with diverse approaches and a strong interdisciplinary character. A well-organized international forum, the Sustainability Transitions Research Network (STRN), supports this research. The Network of Early Career Researchers in Sustainability Transitions (NEST) is a community of Ph.D. students and Early Career Researchers that complement the support provided by STRN.
NEST organizes various activities for early career researchers in the field, including webinars, methods schools, and social activities. The annual NEST conference is the flagship event of the NEST community, where early career researchers and Ph.D. students, from all around the world gather to have stimulating discussions on crucial innovation and transition topics. So far, we have had six successful NEST conferences where participants were able to discuss and exchange work in progress leading to fruitful debates and feedback (from both peers and senior researchers) that helped further each other’s research.
The 7th annual NEST conference will be held on 5th and 6th May 2022, in a hybrid (virtual + in-person) format, with the location being École Normale Supérieure de Lyon, France. This year’s conference theme is “Global Sustainability Transitions: Towards Collaboration among Early Career Researchers”. In line with the conference theme, we believe a hybrid format can create accessibility for participants worldwide, especially to the growing transition community from the global south.Call for Abstracts
