Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • You used the provided abstract submission template and your submission file is in PDF format.
  • Your have selected your hub/university for presentation. Your have specified your type of presentation.
  • Your submission includes a biography of the presenting author (100-150 words) as well as include details of all co-authors with their affiliations.
  • Your abstract does not exceed 400 words and includes relevant keywords.
  • Your text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.

Author Guidelines

We invite all Ph.D. students, Masters students and ECRs working on sustainability transitions to submit a 250-400 words abstract, for a 15-minute presentation followed by a 10-minute discussion. Please include a 100-150 words biography of the presenting author. Please also provide five strong keywords that determine the area of research.

We accept submissions over a wide range of theoretical and empirical topics in the transitions field in a classical NEST-conference fashion. This includes, but is not limited to,

  • Understanding transitions;
  • Power, agency, and politics,
  • Governing transitions,
  • Civil society, culture, and social movements,
  • Businesses and industries,
  • Transitions in practice and everyday life,
  • Geography of transitions,
  • Ethical aspects; and methodologies.

The deadline for abstract submission is extended till April 27, 2024. You will receive our notification of acceptance in June 2024.
