Abstract

All kinds of renewals and initiatives are implemented as temporary inter-organizational projects (IOPs). IOPs include multiple organizations with diverse institutional backgrounds, specialized knowledge and resources, conflicting interests, and limited prior co-operation. Governing IOPs is a significant managerial challenge, and collaborative approaches have been suggested as solutions to enable project actors to work together and meet project goals. Research in project and operations management has introduced various collaborative governance solutions, multi-party contractual arrangements, coordination and integration mechanisms, and relational practices and arrangements, but there is still a need for developing better understanding on how they influence collaboration in temporary IOPs. This track invites both empirical and theoretical studies and welcomes submissions from a variety of disciplines.
