Abstract

This article carries out a literature review and answers the following question, how has the research on social networks of women’s career in the context of organizations and management evolved between 1970 and 2021? Our analysis shows that the field has widened to include individual, organizational and social environment viewpoints. The research on women’s social networks has evolved from establishing the field to individualistic understanding and further taking into account the socio-cultural dynamics. The approach to gender has evolved from the gender comparison to gender particularity and then contextualizing gender.
